Dudley, Mass. (3/30/24) – The Nichols Men's Tennis team was dominant in their Commonwealth Coast Conference opener against Wentworth on Saturday afternoon in Dudley. The defending CCC champion Bison topped the visiting Leopards in shutout fashion 9-0.
In their doubles play sweep the Bison duo of Leon Zeis and Kerem Subasi opened with. 8-3 win at number one. Identical 8-1 scores were had at number two and three doubles thanks to the efforts of Bison Caio Dieckmann / Richard Hartmann Zuzio and Trevor Schwarzmann / Enzo Matos Balleux respectively.
In singles action, three Bison swept their opponents in straight sets, those Bison were Leon Zeis at number one (6-0, 6-4), Trevor Schwarzmann at number two (6-0, 6-0) and Kerem Subasi at number five (6-1, 6-1).
The win marked the 6th all-time 9-0 sweep for the Bison over the Leopards. The Bison hold the all-time record between the two programs 18-1, with their only loss coming in the first meeting in 2007.
Nichols Men's Tennis is back in action on Wednesday, April 3rd as they host CCC rival Endicott. That match is slated for a 4 pm start at the Robinson Tennis Courts at Nichols.
