HARRISVILLE, R.I. (11/1/2024) – Sophomore
Paige Almon earned her first collegiate win, as the Nichols College women's ice hockey team scored three times and topped Framingham State, 3-1 on Friday night from Levy Rink. Nichols jumped out to a 2-0 record for the second straight season.

Alexis Pacheco scored her first collegiate goal and teammate
Angalisa Caceda scored twice, including the game winning goal.

Nichols opened the just under the five-minute mark of the first period. After a Klein centering pass found Melanson streaking down the slot who spun and on her back hand delivered a pass to Pacheco who buried the one timer into the open goal. Nichols grabbed a 1-0 lead.
Nichols continued to pour on the pressure when Caceda scored her first of two goals at the 8:25 mark of the period. Jaskova hit Caceda streaking over the blue line with a pass and Caceda one touched a pass to Montesi whose net front drive was initially stopped, before Caceda popped in the loose puck for a 2-0 lead.
Nichols capitalized on a first period power-play when Caceda tipped in the Segalla shot from the point past the netminder. Nichols led 3-0 after 20 minutes of play. The Rams answered with a goal in the second period to pull within two, but the Bison defenses continued to stop Framingham State and the Bison won 3-1.
Almon made 11 saves in the win for the Bison. Nichols went 1-4 on the power-play and were a perfect 2-2 on the penalty kill.
Nichols (2-0-0) will open Conference of New England (CNE) play when they welcome Curry College to Levy Rink on Friday, November 8
th. Puck drop is set for 5:40 p.m.
