DUDLEY, Mass. (10/9/2024) – The Nichols College field hockey team saw sophomore
McKenzie Guertin score her first collegiate goal on Wednesday night from Vendetti Field as the Bison lost 4-1 to Fitchburg State.
Guertin scored her first collegiate goal in the fourth quarter and senior
Callie Worthington added an assist in the loss for Nichols.
The Falcons opened the scoring just 90 seconds into the contest and they did not look back as they cruised to a 4-1 win. Fitchburg scored three goals in the first quarter and took a 3-0 lead into halftime. Fitchburg added some insurance with their fourth goal of the game.
Nichols responded with a goal of their own, when Guertin cashed in off a great pass from Worthington, but ultimately fell 4-1 to the Falcons.
Nichols will hit the road to face off against Conference of New England foe, Gordon College on Saturday, October 12. Saturday's game is set for 12:00 p.m. in Wenham, Mass.
