MILTON, Mass. (10/5/24) – In a Conference of New England tilt, the Nichols College Women's Soccer program fell 2-0 to the home side Curry College Colonels on Saturday afternoon in Milton.
With the loss, the Bison fell to 3-6-2 (0-3 CNE) on the year, and the Colonels rise to 5-4-2 (1-1-1 CNE) this season.
The Bison defense, anchored by sophomore Hannah Deschene who made her first collegiate start in the afternoon contest, held the Colonels at bay until the 41st minute when Curry scored to go ahead 1-0. That lead would carry into the half.
In second-half action, Curry extended their lead to two thanks to a goal in the 63rd minute. The Colonels edged the Bison16-10 in shots (7-5 SOG). Leading the Bison in shots was senior Natalie Gray with three, followed by graduate student Grace Killman with two. Deschene made five saves in the loss.
The Bison now turn to their next matchup against non-conference opponent Fitchburg State University. That match is slated for Wednesday, October 9th in Fitchburg. Kickoff is at 4 PM.
