DUDLEY, Mass. (10/5/2024) – The Nichols College field hockey returned home from their road trip to face off against Conference of New England (CNE) opponent the University of New England from Vendetti Field on Saturday afternoon. Nichols lost 4-0 to the Nor'easters.

Morgan Belyea registered the lone shot on goal for the Bison in the loss, while senior
Sophia Venable made nine save to keep the Bison close in the contest.
After a 0-0 opening 15 minutes, the visitors cashed in just over eight minutes into the second quarter which ended dup being the game winning goal. UNE added some insurance with a goal in the second quarter and a pair of goals in the fourth quarter to win 4-0.
Belyea has the best chance for the Bison, when she found herself one on one with the netminder but was unable to tuck in the shot.
Nichols will stay at home and await Fitchburg for a Wednesday night match up from Vendetti Field. Start time is set for 7:00 p.m. and is the field hockey team's Breast Cancer Awareness night.
