DUDLEY, Mass. (10/16/24) – The Nichols College women's soccer team fell 8-0 to the visiting University of Hartford Hawks in Conference of New England action Tuesday afternoon in Dudley.
With the loss, the Bison fell to 4-8-2 on the season. Hartford moves to 8-3-2. The meeting was the second all-time between the two programs, as Hartford became a Division 3 program last season. The Hawks hold an all-time record of 2-0.
The Hawks opened the scoring in the 7th minute and didn't look back. Highlighted by graduate student Imani Jenkins hat-trick, the Hawks scored three goals in the first 45 minutes, before adding five more after the halftime break.
A shining light for the Bison was sophomore goaltender Hannah Deschene, who in her second career start made a stellar 14 saves, as she faced 45 shots.
The Bison are back on the road this coming Saturday, October 19th as they head to Bristol, Rhode Island for a CNE match with the Roger Williams University Hawks. That match is set to kick off at 3 pm.
