Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Bison Fall to Suffolk 3-2 as Seniors Honored

DUDLEY, Mass. (10/12/24) - The Nichols College women's soccer team dropped a closely contested match 3-2 to the visiting Suffolk University Rams in Conference of New England action on Saturday. The match served as the Bison's senior day as the team paid tribute to their 13 graduating athletes.

The Bison held the momentum for much of the match thanks to a quick goal in the 10th minute by senior Alana Snow. That goal, which was off a feed from graduate student Alyssa Tarabocchia, stood as the game's only goal through nearly 55 minutes of action.

The Rams answered back in the 65th minute as Charli Adams scored off a free kick just outside the Bison 18-yard box. Off the kickoff play just 15 seconds later, the Bison regained their lead as junior Falyn Hunt scored her team-leading 9th goal off a feed from Snow, who picked up her second point of the day.

The game would be notched up at two apiece when a miscommunication in front of the Bison goal resulted in a Suffolk goal in the 81st minute. The Rams would score the game-winning goal in the 87th minute off a set-piece header off the corner kick. The 3-2 lead would be the game's final score as the Bison couldn't respond in the game's final minutes.

In goal for the Bison senior Saige Frazier recorded four saves in the game in her 12th start in goal for Nichol this season. She was aided throughout the match by a strong Bison defense, anchored by seniors Natalie Gray, Ariana Owen, and Madison Goyetche who all recorded 90 minutes of action on the backline.

With the loss, the Bison dropped to 4-7-2 (0-4 CNE) this season, and the Rams rise to 7-3-2 (1-3 CNE) on the year.

Nichols is back in action on Tuesday, October 15th where they will host conference opponent University of Hartford. Kickoff is set for 3:00 PM in Dudley.
