HARRISVILLE, R.I. (1/19/2024) – The Nichols College women's hockey team lost 4-0 to the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play on Friday evening from Levy Rink. The Bison saw senior McKenzie Muir stop 28 shots in the loss.

Nichols jumped out of the gates quickly but were unable to find the first goal in a 0-0 first 20 minutes of play. The Bison out shot the Nor'Easters 10-7 in the first period. UNE opened the scoring in the second period and jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes.

UNE added their fourth goal of the game and won the game 4-0. Seniors Grace Wiggett and Grace Melanson dominated the face circle winning 16 and 14 respectively for the Bison and led all skaters.

Nichols will look to snap their three-game skid Saturday, January 20, as they wrap up the weekend series with UNE in Biddeford, Maine. Puck drop from Harold Alfond Forum is set for 7:00 p.m.
