BEVERLY, Mass. (1/19/2024) – Special Teams was the difference on Friday evening from Raymond J. Bourque Arena, as the Nichols College men's hockey team lost 5-1 at the hands of the Endicott College Gulls in their first match up of the season.
Senior
Jack Goodman scored the lone Bison goal coming on the power-play. This was his first collegiate goal. Classmates
Philip Bjorkman and
Dylan McMahon cashed in on the helpers. Junior

The Gulls quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a pair of goals just 15 seconds apart and took a 2-0 lead into the dressing room. Endicott added some insurance with their third goal of the game, this one on the power-play, to lead 3-0 through two periods.
The final frame was more of the same from the Gulls as they potted two more power-play goals to lead 5-0 in the opening minutes of the third period. Nichols broke the shut out, thanks to a power-play goal of their own coming off the stick of Goodman.
Nichols lost the CCC contest 5-1. The Bison were out shot 37-24 in the loss and went 5-8 on the penalty kill and 1-4 on the power-play.
The Bison play host to the Gulls on Saturday, January 20. Puck drop from Levy Rink is slated for 4:40 p.m.
