HARRISVILLE, R.I. (1/13/2024) – The Nichols College men's hockey team celebrated its eight seniors on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference match up against Rivier University. The Bison lost 6-0 to the Raiders from Levy Rink.

Nichols honored its seniors' Collin McGuire, Quinn McCarthy, Dylan McMahon, Philip Bjorkman, Brandon Cope, Mathias Backstrom, Joey Allegrini, and Jack Goodman. The Raiders spoiled the celebration, scoring six goals and shutting out the Bison.

Backstrom earned the start in net and made 28 saves for the Bison. The Bison struggled to stay out of the penalty box and as a result Rivier scored three power-play goals in the game. The Raiders scored two goals in each period to earn a 6-0 win.

Nichol will travel to Endicott on Friday, January 19, to take on the Gulls from Raymond J. Bourque Arena. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
