CANTON, Mass. (1/13/2024) – The Nichols College women's hockey dropped their second game of the weekend to the Curry College Colonels from the Canton Ice House on Saturday afternoon. The Bison lost 5-0 at the hands of the Colonels in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play.

Junior Anamary Pulgar earned the start in net for the Bison making 27 saves in the loss. This was her first loss of the season. Freshman Paige Almon saw action in between the pipes in relief effort.

Neither team found the back of the net in the first period, but the Bison controlled play out shooting Curry, 11-3. The second period, the Colonels opened the scoring at the 1:32 mark and scored two more times to grab a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes of action. Curry grabbed two more goals in the third period to ice the game and grab their second shut out on the weekend over the Bison.

Nichols went 0-4 on the power-play and 5-8 on the penalty kill in the loss.

The Bison will get back to action next week, as they play host to the University if New England on Friday, January 19 at Levy Rink. Puck drop is set for 5:40 p.m.
