Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Dealt 4-2 Loss at Sage College

ALBANY, N.Y. (9/2/23) – The first goal of the game belonged to the Nichols College women's soccer program, but the Bison found themselves on the wrong end of a 4-2 final score against Sage College on Saturday afternoon at Saint Rose's Plumeri Sports Complex.

With the loss, the Bison fall to 0-2 overall on the season, while the Gators improve to 1-1 overall following the win.

All three first half goals arrived within the opening 10:30 of play. Junior Natalie Gray put the Bison on the board first just 00:33 seconds into the action with her first of the season, unassisted. Shortly thereafter, the host Gators solved the early deficit problem with a pair of goals just over a minute apart, bringing the score to 2-1. Through the first 45-minutes played, Sage outshot Nichols by an 8-3 margin.

At the start of the second half, Nichols notched the equalizer thanks to junior Alana Snow, which was once again unassisted. However, there was some déjà vu for the visiting Bison towards the tail end of the action, as the Gators added another pair of insurance goals to escape with the victory.

Goalkeepers Saige Frazier and Adie Hughes both saw time between the posts for Nichols in the effort, with each logging a full half of action with five shots faced and three saves.

Women's soccer will make one final stop on their two-game road trip with a meeting at Smith College on Tuesday, September 5th  for a 5PM kickoff in Northampton, Massachusetts.
