DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College Women's Soccer program opened their 2023 season with a home match against the Clark University Cougars at the Nichols Soccer Field. Nichols were unable to hold off the Cougars and dropped the Friday afternoon non-conference matchup by a score of 2-1.

Natalie Gray scored the lone goal for the Bison and her first goal of the season.
The Bison and Cougars exchanged many early chances, but it was almost 30 minutes into the contest before the Cougars Andrea Mortimer opened the scoring.
In the 56
th minute, Gray converted off a great pass from
Ariana Owen to lock the contest up at one a piece. But, less than 30 seconds later, Clark's Siobhan Lounsbury netted a goal past Bison netminder
Adie Hughes, regaining the lead.
Despite a phenomenal performance by Hughes, the Bison were unable to catch the Cougars. They fell by a final score of 2-1.
The Bison are back in action tomorrow Saturday September 2
nd, as they head to Albany, NY to take on Sage at ACP Stadium.
