DUDLEY, Mass. – Nichols College Vice President and Director of Athletics Jack Hayes announced that Emma Mawn has been appointed the head field hockey coach at Nichols College.
 
"We are excited to name Emma Mawn as our head field hockey coach," said Hayes.   "Emma is well-respected in the coaching community and has made a significant impact in her time at Nichols.  She has developed outstanding relationships with team members and Division of Athletics staff."
 
Mawn takes over as head coach after spending one season as a graduate assistant with the Nichols field hockey program in 2022. She also served as the head JV field hockey coach at Monomoy High School in the fall of 2020, as well as a club coach for Cape Cod Field Hockey.
 
"I am honored to have been offered this wonderful opportunity to coach at Nichols College. I am grateful to the college for having faith in me," stated Mawn. "I look forward to working with a solid core of returning athletes and am excited to get started. I would like to extend my best wishes to Coach Lane in her next endeavor at Clark University."
 
A 2022 graduate of Stonehill College with a B.S. in Marketing and a B.A. in Mediated Communications, Mawn spent four years on the Skyhawks field hockey team, serving as a team captain during her senior year. She appeared in 51 games during her career, making 35 starts, tallying 34 points on 12 goals and 10 assists. During her sophomore season, Mawn scored a career-high six goals which earned her All-NE10 Third Team Honors.
 
Mawn was a standout in the classroom during her time at Stonehill, being named to the NE-10 Academic Honor Roll three times, while also making the Dean's List. In 2019, Mawn was the recipient of the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award. She was also a member of the Anchors Leadership Society and was selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II Senior Team.
 
Mawn is set to make her coaching debut on Friday, September 1 when the Bison travel to Smith College to take on Westfield State in the Caryl Newhof Classic.
