Emma Mawn begins her first season as the Head Coach of the Nichols College field hockey program in 2023.
Mawn finished her season at the helm with a 6-11 record, including wins over Clark University (10/10) and claiming her first conference win against Gordon (10/17). Mawn led the Bison to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) in her first season in 2023. This was the first time team qualified for post-season play since 2013 (10 years), and faced off against Western New England University in the 2023 Quarterfinals.Â
Â
A 2022 graduate of Stonehill College with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in Mediated Communications, Mawn was a four-year member of the Skyhawks field hockey program, which competed in the Northeast-10 Conference. She appeared in 51 games during her career (35 starts), compiling 34 points on 12 goals and 10 assists. Mawn scored a career-high six goals as a sophomore in 2019, earning All-NE10 Third Team Honors, before serving as a team captain as a senior last fall.
Â
Off the field, Mawn was named to the NE-10 Academic Honor Roll on three occasions (2018; 2020-21) and recipient of the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award in 2019. She was also a member of both the Dean’s List and the Anchors Leadership Society at Stonehill and was selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II Senior Team following her senior season.
Â
Mawn served as the Head JV Field Hockey Coach at Monomoy HS in the fall of 2020, when the Skyhawks did not compete due to COVID-19. She created practice plans that challenged players and provided proper instruction while successfully communicating goals and forming a cohesive team. Mawn has also worked as a camp counselor at Stonehill field hockey camps and, most recently, as a club coach for Cape Cod Field Hockey.
