POSTSEASON PREVIEW: Men’s Lacrosse Heads to No. 1 Endicott for CCC Semifinals Clash

CCC Bracket

BEVERLY, Mass. – After upsetting No. 4 Roger Williams in a defensive battle in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Quarterfinal in Bristol, the fifth-seeded Nichols men's lacrosse team (11-7) heads to Beverly for a showdown with No. 1 Endicott (12-4) on Wednesday afternoon with the opening faceoff set for 4:00 p.m. from Hempstead Stadium.

In the CCC Quarterfinal, faceoff specialist Travis Arnold played a major role in the Bison's offensive set-up, winning over 50% of his faceoffs taken. From there, it was Jack Ellis (1-2-3) and Cian Keohane (3-0-3) who pushed the pace on offense. Brady Morgan made 11 shots in a win that the defensive group played extremely tight, as Kyle Ettenhofer, Sam Reisman, and Nick Gualtieri each caused two turnovers while Ettenhofer scooped a team-best six ground balls.

Endicott received the top spot in the tournament and a first-round bye after cruising to an 8-0 regular season. Both teams faced off on April 15 in a matchup that the Gulls walked out of Vendetti Field with a 14-7, as part of their undefeated season in conference play.

The Gulls dominated the CCC on both sides of the field in 2023, earning the best goals per-game mark (14.69) and goals against average (9.50). The team was led by Domenic Russo's 49 goals. The following main contributors to the offense are Nick Pagluisi, Domenic Valera, and Max Kesicki. Tim Luciano has been the main goalkeeper for the Gulls, making 184 saves to boast a 56.6 save percentage, which sits third in the CCC, with Brady Morgan's 59.3 at the top in the statistical category.

The Bison, with first-year head coach Shayne Lynch at the helm, look to avenge the loss from mid-April and defeat the 10-time champion Gulls tonight and advance to the team's first CCC Championship berth in program history.
