SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Nichols men's tennis team dropped a non-conference match against NCAA Division I Bryant on Saturday afternoon at the Bryant Tennis Complex. With the loss, the Bison fall to 10-9 on the year (7-0 CCC) while the Bulldogs improve to 7-16.
The Bulldogs captured an early 1-0, after sweeping doubles. The tandem of Santiago Perez and Caio Dieckmann on court three put up a fight against their Bulldog counterparts, but fell short by a score of 6-3. The last duo standing for the Bison, Frederick Bertrams and Leon Zeis, fought hard as well on at No. 1, but eventually lost 6-4.
The Bison looked to bounce back in singles play, but the Bulldogs would not back down. Ayraan Sen clinched the match for the Bulldogs on court three, taking down Yannick De Vet by a score of 6-2, 6-3.
The Bison will play their penultimate match against Coast Guard in New London, Connecticut on Monday, April 17th.
