DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols men's lacrosse team fell behind early in a Senior Day loss to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponent, Endicott, on Saturday afternoon at Vendetti Field, dropping the contest by a score of 14-7. Nichols now sits at 8-6 (2-3 CCC) while the Gulls jumped to 9-4 (5-0 CCC).
After falling behind 11-0,
Cian Keohane struck on a man-up opportunity to put the Bison on the board on a feed from
Hunter Ferreira with 42 seconds left in the half.
Coming out of the break, Keohae would add another, followed by
Ryan Warner's lone tally of the day to cut the deficit to eight. Nichols would find itself down 14-4 heading into the fourth quarter and would score three times while the defense allowed no goals to make the final score 14-7.
Both Keohane (1-2-3) and Ferreira (2-1-3) led the offensive push with three points apiece, followed by
Jack Ellis (1-1-2) with two.
Brady Morgan made 12 saves and scooped a team-best four ground balls in the loss.
Nichols went 3-for-7 on extra-man opportunities, as both teams went nearly perfect on clears. Endicott won the faceoff and ground ball battle by a wide margin.
Next up, the Bison will play host to Wentworth in a Tuesday afternoon showdown with the Leopards in CCC play at Vendetti Field beginning at 4:00 p.m.
