WORCESTER, MASS. - The Nichols women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to NCAA Division I opponent Holy Cross on Thursday afternoon. The decision drops the Bison to 10-10 (5-2 CCC) on the year, while the Crusaders improve to 6-7 (0-4 Patriot).
The Crusaders would jump out to a quick 1-0 following their sweep in doubles.
Holy Cross would go on to clinch the match with three-straight singles victories. Despite dropping the match, Johanna Schroeder, at No. 3, would claim the first point for the Bison, winning her match by a score of 6-1, 7-6. Antonia Carrero followed her up with a win of her own in a hard-fought battle on court one, 7-6, 6-2.
The Bison will take the court one last time this year on Saturday, April 15th, when they take on Division I opponent Bryant at the Bryant Tennis Complex at noon.
