NORTHAMPTON, MASS - The Nichols women's tennis team dropped their non-conference match against Smith by a score of 8-1 on Wednesday afternoon at the Smith Outdoor Tennis Courts. With this loss, the Bison fall to 10-9 on the year (5-2 CCC), while the Pioneers improve to 5-5 overall (2-3 NEWMAC).

Smith took control of the courts early, winning all three doubles matches. The Bison would look to make strides in singles play, but Smith would not back down. Kelley Carlin would take home the only victory for the Bison on court six by a score of 6-2, 6-3 as Smith came out victorious at the other five spots.

The Bison will now look ahead to their penultimate match on Thursday, April 13th, as the team takes on Holy Cross at the Sinnot Family Tennis Facility at 4:00 p.m.
