Nichols College Athletics

DUDLEY, Mass. (10/9/2026) - The Nichols College women's tennis team earned a 5-2 Conference of New England (CNE) victory over Suffolk University on Friday afternoon at the Robinson Tennis Courts.

The Bison improve to 3-5-1 overall and 3-3 in CNE play, while the Rams fall to 1-8 overall and 1-6 in conference action.

Nichols opened the afternoon by sweeping doubles play to take a 1-0 lead. Pamela Gonzalez Vallardi and Gianna Musumeci earned a 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Julia Beaulieu and Erin Helly also posted a 6-0 shutout at No. 2 doubles. 

The Bison carried their momentum into singles play, with Gonzalez Vallardi delivering a dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory over Nia Bebb at No. 1 singles. Helly followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Chloe Burns at No. 2, while Musumeci secured a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Julia Lanczycki at No. 3 to help clinch the team victory.

Suffolk earned points at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, as Callie Clark edged Maher in a three-set tiebreaker, 6-2, 5-7, 14-12, and Morgan Plitt defeated Beaulieu, 6-1, 6-4. Tingle earned another point for Nichols at No. 6 singles by default to round out the 5-2 final.

The Bison return to action on Tuesday, October 13, when they host Western New England University for a CNE match up and their Senior Day at the Robinson Tennis Courts. First serve is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
