CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Nichols men's tennis team kicked off its second semester action with a 6-1 defeat to No. 30 MIT on Saturday night at the J.B. Carr Tennis Bubble. With the loss, the Bison drop to 1-4 overall, while MIT advances to 3-2.
The Engineers swept doubles play to kick off the match with a 3-0 lead going into singles. Freshman
Ludwig Schlätzer was the lone Bison to secure a singles victory, defeating MIT's Benjamin Ebanks in No. 4 court action, 4-6, 6-2, 10-7.
The final two singles matches did not finish.
Nichols will continue its non-conference slate in a home match against Emerson on Sunday, March 5 as the team takes on Emerson at Fore Court in Cumberland, R.I.
