Plymouth, N.H. (10/4/23) – The Nichols College Women's Soccer came up just short against the Plymouth State University Panthers in non-conference action Wednesday. The Panthers took the match 3-2.
With the loss, Nichols falls to 2-8-1 (0-3 CCC) the year, and the Panthers earn their second win and move to 2-6-2 (0-4 LEC).
This Bison outshot the Panthers 8-7 in the first half, but it was the home side who jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals in the 20
th and 21
st minute.
In second half action, the Bison came stampeding back. In the 53rd minute,
Natalie Gray scored a goal from just outside the 18 off a
Ariana Owen pass to cut the Panthers lead to one. In the 81
st minute,
Alyssa Tarabocchia scored off a long ball towards the Panthers net.
Less than 2 minutes after the Tarabocchia goal, Plymouth's Cass Hanson would score the game winner for the Panthers.
In net for the Bison,
Adie Hughes recorded 11 saves in the match.
The Women's Soccer Team returns to action this Saturday October 7
th when they take on Suffolk in a Commonwealth Coast Conference match at East Boston Memorial Park. They are set to hit the pitch at 12 PM.
