Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey Shut Out by Golden Bears, 6-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (10/14/23) – The Nichols College field hockey team lost 6-0 to the Western New England Golden Bears in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Bears opened the scoring, just two minutes into the opening frame and did not look back. They added two more goals in the second quarter, to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. They tallied three more times in the fourth quarter to win 6-0 over the Bison.

Junior Sophie Venable made 14 saves in 50:41 minutes of action before freshman Fallyn Belisle finished out the game making two saves in 9:19 minutes of fourth quarter action.

Nichols returns home, as they face off against CCC opponent Gordon on Tuesday October 17, from Vendetti Field. That game kicks off at 7 p.m.
