Dudley, Mass. (10/10/23) – The Nichols Men's Soccer Team dropped a Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup at home against the Roger Williams University Hawks. The Hawks edged out the Bison by a tight 1-0 margin.
With the loss, Nichols sits at 6-5-2 (1-2-2 CCC) on the year and the Hawks soar to 4-4-6 (2-1-1 CCC) this season.
The Bison controlled much of the match early in the first half. The home squad was able to commend their possession time and dictated much of the ball movement. Despite the possession, it was the Hawks who were able to strike first. Ewan Noble dove towards the Bison goal and netted his first of the year of a cross from teammate Max Patenaude. The goal put the visitors up 1-0.
In the second half saw continued back and forth action between both sides. The Bison would try and crack the Hawks shutout, with their best chance coming from a free kick ball from
Nikolas Padilla just outside the 18-yard box, with less than four minutes to play, with many Bison trying to tip the ball towards the goal.

Franco Barreto Santana stood tall recording 9 saves for the home squad. Hogan Cain recorded 2 saves in the shutout for the visitors.
The Men's Soccer Team returns to action Saturday October 14
th at Wentworth in Boston. The CCC matchup is set to kickoff at Sweeney Field at 12:30PM.
