DUDLEY, Mass. - The Nichols men's basketball team used a huge second half to top Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponent Gordon by the score of 89-69. With the win, Nichols improves their record to 12-5 (8-2 CCC), while Gordon drops to 6-11 (2-8 CCC).

Gordon came out hot in the first half, knocking down 12 three-pointers to hold a 48-43 lead over the Bison at the break.
Ty Rucker led the Bison with 12 points in the first half.

The second half was a much different story, as Nichols dominated from the start. The Bison used a 7-0 run to start the half to take the lead. After a timeout, a 6-0 run for the visiting team gave them a 58-52 advantage with 14:49 left to play. Nichols would answer back in a big way, going on a 35-2 run over the span of 11 minutes to put the game out of reach. Nichols held Gordon without a point for over six minutes during the run. The Bison cruised the rest of the way to secure their sixth victory in a row.

Rucker was the leading scorer for Nichols with 21 points.
Matthew Alectus recorded his 11
th double-double of the season with 20 points and 18 rebounds.

Nichols looks to extend their win streak to seven on Tuesday, January 24 when they take on Curry at home at 7:30 p.m.
