SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Nichols men's soccer program narrowly fell to Western New England University, 1-0, Saturday morning at Suprenant Field.

Western New England's (5-3-1, 2-0-0 CCC) Sean O'Neill broke the tie at 37:00 minutes into the first half, which proved to be the only score of the match.

Nichols (5-4-1, 0-1-1 CCC) freshman goaltender Derek Axon recorded eight saves on the morning. Sophomore Fernando Barranco led the squad with two shots.

The Bison return home Monday, September 26th to face Mitchell College in non-conference action at the Nichols Soccer Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
