DUDLEY, Mass. – Behind a strong team performance, Nichols women's tennis earned a 9-0 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) victory over Western New England on Wednesday, September 14 at the Volvo Outdoor Tennis Courts. The win marked the first for the program's new head coach, Ron Gendron.
 
The match started off with the Bison dominating all three doubles games, with Sophia Leonardi and Antonia Carrero on the first court, producing an 8-2 victory.
 
In singles play, all six Bison competitors were too much for their Golden Bear competition. Both Johanna Schroeder (fourth court) and Camila Magrin (fifth court) swept their games, 6-0, 6-0.
 
With Wednesday's triumph, Nichols evened its overall record at 1-1 on the season, and will look to advance to 2-0 in CCC play in its upcoming match at Roger Williams, slated for Tuesday, September 20 at 4 p.m.
