BRISTOL, R.I. - The Nichols women's tennis team suffered a 5-4 setback in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play, falling on the road to Roger Williams, 5-4.
The second court duo of
Tifany Lucart and reigning CCC Rookie of the Week
Charis Vogler were able to secure the lone Bison point in doubles play, 8-6.
In singles play, Nichols jumped out to an early advantage as Vogler (7-6, 6-3) and
Camila Magrin (6-4, 6-2) battled to wins on the third and sixth courts, respectively.
Johanna Schroeder added a Bison victory with a 6-4, 6-1 triumph on the fourth court, but it was not enough to overtake the hosts, who won the final and deciding game on court one.
The Bison will continue CCC play at home this Saturday, September 24, as they play host to Endicott at 11 a.m. at the Robinson Tennis Courts.
