PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Nichols men's soccer program fell to Rhode Island College Saturday afternoon, 3-1, at Alumni Field.
The Bison (3-2) struck first 18:24 into the first half on freshman
Brady Stevenson's third goal in five matches. Senior
Nikolas Padilla was credited with the assist on the play.
The Anchormen (1-2) held the Bison scoreless for the remaining 71 minutes while scoring three goals of their own throughout that time.
Freshman
Derek Axon's five saves in relief brings him to 19 on the season, good for second in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) in the category. Padilla's assist brings him to three on the season, putting him in a tie for the lead in the CCC.
Nichols travels to Mass. Maritime Tuesday, September 13, for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff at Clean Harbors Stadium in Buzzards Bay, Mass.
