Victor Valentin each drove in three runs as the Nichols College baseball team swept a doubleheader from Curry College Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.
Game One: Nichols 10, Curry 0 (7 inn.)
Valentin cleared the bases with a triple in the third while senior
DJ Caron ripped a two-run double and Knox drove in two runs. Caron and Knox each tallied three hits in the nightcap in support of graduate student
Justin Hurley, who went to the distance to even his record at 3-3 as he scattered four hits and struck out six.
Game Two: Nichols 12, Curry 2
Cormier went 4-for-5 with a solo blast and a two-run doubles, and scored three times. Senior
Isaac Blanford, along with sophomore
Johnny Knox and
Andrew Croteau, all collected two hits while Croteau, junior
Will Kleinhenz, and freshman
William Nath all drove in a pair. Freshman
Sean Ryan tossed five innings of shutout ball to pick up his second win of 2022 for the Bison (9-11-1, 2-4-1 CCC). He did not walk a batter and fanned three.
