MILTON, Mass. – The Nichols College softball team swept a pair of games from Curry College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Sunday afternoon at D. Forbes Will Field.
Game One: Nichols 8, Curry 0 (6 inn.)
Senior
Samantha Kostek and freshman
Chloe Steiniger each drove in two runs and junior
Allie Brown went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Sophomores
Mackenzie Jackson and
Hailey Bogusz also drove in runs for the Bison, who pounded out 11 hits, highlighted by Kostek's two-run double in the second and Steiniger's two-run single in the sixth. Kostek finished the contest with three hits, the last of which was the 100th of her career. Junior
Alyssa Ouellette went the distance to pick up her second win of 2022, allowing just two hits while striking out seven in six innings of work.
Game Two: Nichols 7, Curry 5
Freshman
Erin Gour smacked her first collegiate home run and Bogusz also went yard and finished with two RBI as the Bison completed a sweep of Curry. Both Gour and Bogusz, along with Brown and junior
Kamryn Gurnee-Mims, racked up two hits to support Ouellette, who fanned three in 4.2 innings of relief to record her second win of the afternoon. She allowed six hits and three runs (two earned) with two walks and three strikeouts.
