DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College softball team swept its doubleheader with Worcester State University Thursday afternoon in non-conference action at the Nichols Softball Field.
Game One: Bison 14, Lancers 6
Junior
Allie Brown and sophomore
Mackenzie Jackson went 2-for-3 with three RBI while both senior
Samantha Kostek and freshman
Chloe Steiniger drove in a pair in the win. Both Jackson and Brown laced two-run doubles and junior
Kamryn Gurnee-Mims, sophomore
Hailey Bogusz, and freshman
Erin Gour all collected one RBI. Freshman
Felicia Burgos plated the game-ending run in the sixth to give senior reliever
Candice Nelson her second win of the season. Nelson allowed two hits and fanned two in 1.2 innings of scoreless work.
Game Two: Bison 7, Lancers 2
Sophomore
Jayda Cesar smacked a two-run double in the sixth as the Bison (9-15) pushed across six runs to blow the game open. Bogusz went 2-for-3 with an RBI and freshman
Lilly Fangel also picked up an RBI single. Nelson went the distance to move to 3-4 on the season, holding the Lancers to six hits and two runs over six while striking out one.
