DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College softball team earned a split of its doubleheader with Gordon College by virtue of a 5-4 win in game two Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Nichols Softball Field.
Game One: Fighting Scots 5, Bison 4
Freshman
Chloe Steiniger went 3-for-4 with a run-scoring single and a run scored while junior
Kamryn Gurnee-Mims picked up two hits and an RBI. Senior
Samantha Kostek and sophomore
Jayda Cesar also tallied two hits. Junior
Alyssa Ouellette surrendered eight hits and five runs with two walks and three strikeouts in defeat.
Game Two: Bison 5, Fighting Scots 4
Freshman
Erin Gour smacked her second home run of the season in the second for the Bison (10-16, 5-7 CCC), who broke a three-all tie in the fourth on a two-run double off the bat of Kostek. Gurnee-Mims and sophomore
Hailey Bogusz each drove in one run for the NC. Ouellette worked a scoreless 2.1 innings in relief of freshman starter
Chelsea Indyk to secure her fourth win of 2022.
