MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Nichols College baseball team jumped out to a 7-0 lead and cruised to a 9-4 win over Wesleyan (CT) University Thursday afternoon in non-conference action at Dressler Diamond.

Sophomore Johnny Knox go 2-for-4 with two home runs, two RBI and two runs scored for the Bison (6-10), who also saw junior Will Kleinhenz drove in two runs. Graduate student Nathaniel Cormier and freshman William Naith also plated runs for NC.

Knox's solo round tripper in the first capped a four-run outburst and gave Nichols the early lead. He homered again in the fourth to extend the lead to 8-2.

Junior Jack Kabel worked two innings of scoreless relief to record the win, his first of 2022. He allowed one hit and struck out three.
