SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Nichols College men's volleyball team scored a pair of 3-0 wins over Russell Sage and American International College Saturday on the campus of AIC.
The Bison (4-3) opened the day with a 25-21, 25-12, 29-27 win over the Yellow Jackets (0-4). Seniors
Collin Hunter and
Ray Wang collected nine and eight kills, respectively, to spark the offense while sophomore
Nick Martin handed out 29 assists, junior and reigning New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Defensive Player of the Year
Nicholas Basco racked up 11 digs, and junior
Ethan Powers notched five kills three blocks. Wang also registered five service aces.
Against the Gators, the Bison picked up wins of 25-17, 25-9, and 25-12. Hunter paced NC in both kills (eight) and service aces (five) while Martin racked up 25 assists and graduate student
Sammy Saintilus was credited with a pair of blocks. Sophomore
Nick Lavrenchuk compiled seven kills and four digs as the Bison posted a team hitting percentage of .456.
