HARRISVILLE, R.I. – The Nichols men's hockey program fell to No. 15 Endicott College, 4-2, Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Levy Rink.
 
Nichols falls to 2-2-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the CCC, while Endicott improves to 3-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the conference.
 
The two teams played even in the first period, with Bison senior goaltender Korbinian Lutz recording nine saves on the frame. His counterpart for the Gulls Ryan Wilson recorded four on the other end.
 
The Bison found their rhythm in the second period and developed a decent passing sequence, passing back and forth from the top down to both lower corners. Junior Philip Bjorkman passed the puck from the top, low to sophomore Kaiden Scott, who found sophomore Gabe Temple wide open across the ice, burying the power play goal at the 15:53 mark.
 
The lead would not last long as Endicott found the back of the net twice in a 1:14 span, bringing the score to 2-1 at the end of the period.
 
Endicott scored again at the 7:38 mark before the Bison netted another power play goal. Going into the man-up advantage, Nichols pulled Lutz to create a two-man advantage. After battling to keep the puck in the offensive zone Temple was able to control a short pass to junior Dylan McMahon, who buried the goal to bring the Bison within one. With 1:49 left in the period, the Bison pulled Lutz once again, but were not as fortunate as Endicott's Cam Speck sent a clear into the empty net with 27 seconds remaining.
 
Nichols returns home Friday, November 11, to face Suffolk University in CCC action at Levy Rink.
