NASHUA, N.H. – The Nichols women's basketball program dropped their season opener to Rivier University, 77-52, Thursday night at Muldoon Gymnasium.
The Bison (0-1) finished the first quarter with a four-point lead before a slow second and third quarter set them back by 21.
Senior
Kiera Fernandes led the squad with 24 points, followed by junior
Abrianna Vazquez with 12. Fernandes also had nine rebounds and seven steals, while going 5-8 from the line in her Nichols debut.
The Raiders (2-0) were led by Lyric Grumblatt, who also had 24 points on the night.
Nichols heads back out on the road Tuesday, November 15, to face Wellesley College at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse in Wellesley, Mass. at 7:00 p.m.
