Men's Soccer Sneaks By Falcons on Senior Day

Nichols Men's Soccer - Post-Game Comments - Oct. 4 vs. Fitchburg State

DUDLEY, Mass. - The Nichols men's soccer program narrowly escaped Fitchburg State University Tuesday afternoon, 1-0, at Vendetti field in non-conference action.

Sophomore William Savage won the match for the Bison (7-4-2) with 24:47 remaining in the second half. A clear by freshman goalkeeper Derek Axon found the foot of freshman Brady Stevenson, and a quick move by Savage split the defense to give him room for the strike.

With the goal, Savage leads the squad with ten goals on the season, and extends his team-lead in points to 21. With his three saves on the day, Axon collected his third shutout of the year.

Prior to the contest, the team recognized four senior members of the squad for their contributions to the program: Tyler Adu, Jon Christy, Nikolas Padilla, and Dawson Quint.

Nichols returns to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play when they travel to Curry College for a 5:00 p.m. matchup at Walter M. Katz Field.
