DUDLEY, Mass. – Nichols women's volleyball fell to Wentworth in straight sets of a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) match on Wednesday night at the Nichols Athletic Center. The Bison fell by a mere two points in each set of their regular-season home finale, and now sit at 15-9 (3-5 CCC) with one match remaining.
Despite holding a lead late in all three sets, the Leopards used a tenacious resurgence to regain the lead and earn set victories on each occasion to earn the sweep. Riley Waggoner was the hot hand for the visitors, as the senior middle recorded 13 kills on a .812 hitting percentage to help boost Wentworth to their sixth conference win of the season.
Jayleen Fegan led the Bison offensively with 10 kills, hitting at a .267 clip, while
Kya Burdier recorded 25 assists and
Liz Diorio elevated 13 Wentworth attacks in the setback.
Nichols will ship up to Boston on Saturday, October 29 in its last scheduled contest of the regular season with a CCC matchup against Suffolk. First serve from Smith Court is set for 11 a.m.
