Nichols Women's Tennis - Post-Game Comments - Oct. 18 vs. Gordon (CCC Quarterfinal)
 
DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols women's tennis team earned a 5-0 victory over Gordon in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Quarterfinals on Tuesday afternoon at the Robinson Tennis Courts. With the win, the Bison are set to travel to Roger Williams on Thursday, October 20 for a conference semifinals showdown in Bristol, R.I.
 
The Bison began the match with three-straight doubles wins, as Tifany Lucart & Sophia Leonardi got Nichols rolling with an 8-0 win on the second court. Kelley Carlin & Jordan Knowles tacked on an 8-1 win over their opponents in No. 2 doubles play, before Antonia Carrero & Charis Vogler took care of business on the first court, 8-1, to put the Bison up 3-0.
 
Needing just two points to earn the decision, Vogler carried her dominating No. 2 singles play into the postseason, notching a 6-0, 6-2 win over Abbigail Fournier and Johanna Schroeder swept Hannah Hovda on the fourth court to secure the 5-0 triumph.
 
The four other courts in action went unfinished upon the decision being reached, as is protocol during the CCC Tournament.
 
Nichols will look to avenge last year's CCC Semifinals loss in a rematch at #2 Roger Williams on Thursday afternoon at the RWU Tennis Courts.
