HENNIKER, N.H. - The Nichols field hockey program fell to New England College Tuesday night, 7-2, in non-conference action at Don Melander Field.

The Pilgrims' (8-5) Drea Chin and Makayla Vincent combined for all seven goals for the home team, netting at least one goal in each quarter.

Senior Erin Anthony converted on a corner at the end of the first quarter for the Bison (5-10), tipping in a deflected shot by freshman Merle Steinau to bring the score to 2-1. Graduate student Sam Ahaesy netted the second goal for the squad with just under three minutes remaining in the match.

Nichols returns to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon when they host Western New England University at 2:00 p.m. at Vendetti Field. The program will recognize Anthony and fellow senior Megan Fuchs as part of their Senior Day festivities prior to the match.
