MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – The Nichols field hockey program fell to Salve Regina University Saturday afternoon, 5-3, at Gaudet Field.
The Seahawks (5-8, 2-3 CCC) got out to a quick 3-0 lead, netting three goals in a three-minute span in the first quarter.
Bison (5-9, 1-3 CCC) senior
Erin Anthony cut into the Salve Regina lead in the second quarter, scoring her sixth goal of the season.
Salve extended their lead back to three in the third quarter, finding the back of the net halfway through the frame.

Taylor Breen, bringing the score to 4-2 with six minutes remaining in the third.
Salve opened the fourth quarter with their fifth goal of the game, before Anthony converted on a penalty stroke with just under four minutes remaining in the match, bringing the score to 5-3, where it would remain.
Anthony and the Bison will look to get back in the win column Tuesday, October 18, when they travel to Henniker, New Hampshire, to face New England College at Don Melander Field.
