DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols women's volleyball team dropped a four-set decision to Elms in non-conference play on Thursday night at the Nichols Athletics Center. The Bison fell by set scores of 25-27, 25-21, 22-25, 25-27 to fall to 13-6 on the season.
The first set went more than 25 as the teams battled point-for-point. Elms held a 24-21 set one lead, but a three-point swing from Nichols tied things up at 24-all. Kills from Alysha Izquierdo and Jaylianne Ramos put things away to put the Blazers in front 1-0.
In the second frame, both squads traded points until Nichols used a 4-0 run, capped off by two kills by
Luna Colozzo to even up the match at 1-1.
Elms held on to win the third set, 25-22, before battling to a 27-25 fourth set victory to secure the match, boosting its overall record to 6-11.
Nichols will return to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play in a Tuesday, October 18 showdown at Gordon from the Bennett Center beginning at 7 p.m.
