WENHAM, Mass. – Nichols women's volleyball fell in a five-set match at Gordon on Tuesday night at the Bennett Center by set scores of 25-23, 36-34, 11-25, 17-25, 7-15.
The Bison led 2-0 following a hectic second set in which Nichols needed a 36-point effort to grab the two-game advantage.
The hosts would not go down without a fight, however, as the Fighting Scots rallied to and win next three sets after facing elimination, to win the match 3-2.
Liz Diorio recorded 18 digs in the loss, while
Haylee Granato and
Ryley Plourde paced the offense with 14 and 13 kills, respectively.
Kya Burdier also dished out 43 assists.
Nichols will return to CCC action on Saturday, October 22 in a 5 p.m. matchup with the University of New England at the Harold Alfond Forum.
