Vazquez nets 29 in loss at Suffolk

BOSTON, Mass. - Sophomore Abrianna Vazquez scored 29 points in Nichols College's 87-68 loss at Suffolk University Tuesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's basketball action at Smith Court.

Vazquez knocked down five 3-pointers and also collected five steals, three assists and three boards. Classmate Summer Klein was one rebound shy of a double-double, finishing with 18 points and nine rebounds while both junior Leandra Ortiz and freshman Hadley Houghton netted seven points.

The Rams (8-3, 2-2 CCC) held a decisive edge on the glass, pulling down 67 rebounds compared to 31 for the Bison (5-6, 1-3 CCC). NC shot 36 percent from the field and drained nine of their 26 three-point attempts. The Bison also forced 23 turnovers which led to 20 points.
