WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Graduate student
Mel McAleer became the first student-athlete in the history of the Nichols College women's ice hockey program to reach the 100-point mark for her career in a 4-0 shutout of Western New England University Sunday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Olympia Ice Center.
McAleer closed the evening with a goal and an assist, the latter of which pushed her to the century mark. The Hanson, Mass. native has 18 points in 17 games this season (6-12-18), and 45 goals and 55 points in 91 career games.

Grace Melanson also scored for the Bison (9-7-1, 6-6-1 CCC) while freshman
Victoria Bakopanos stopped all 21 shots she faced to earn her second career shutout.
Nichols outshot the Golden Bears (6-12-2, 4-9-0 CCC) by a 37-21 margin and went 1-for-3 with the extra attacker. The Bison have won three of their last five contests.
