Bison cruise past Raiders, 8-1

HARRISVILLE, R.I. – Sophomore Grace Wiggett picked up three points in Nichols College's 8-1 win over Rivier College Tuesday afternoon in non-conference women's ice hockey action at Levy Rink.

Senior Alicia Hunks and junior Lauren Rokala each scored twice and seniors Kara Santoro and Isabella Portt each dished out two assists as the Bison (9-7-1) ran their win streak to three games. Santoro, meanwhile, become the ninth student-athlete in program history to appear in 100 career games.

Freshman netminder McKenzie Muir got the start between the pipes for Nichols and stopped eight shots to record her second collegiate win. The Bison outshot the first-year Raiders 67-9 and did not commit a penalty on the afternoon.

Graduate student Mel McAleer scored the second goal of the game for the Bison to extend her program-record for points to 101.
