Abrianna Vazquez scored a game-high 20 points in Nichols College's 86-52 loss to the University of New England Sunday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's basketball action at Harry Alford Forum.
Junior
Leandra Ortiz added13 points for the Bison (7-10, 3-7 CCC), who saw nine different student-athletes score. Ortiz and senior
Jillian Spillane each notched two steaks, Vazquez pulled down seven rebounds, and senior
Amanda Donoghue collected four rebounds and two points.
Nichols forced 18 turnovers which led to 10 points. The Bison struggled from the field, however, sinking 22 of their 71 field goal attempts (23 percent) and were outrebounded 63-40.
The Nor'easters (10-8, 8-3 CCC) shot 44 percent and saw five student-athletes reach double-figures in scoring, led by Jordyn Franzen with 16 points.
