DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College softball team took two from Curry College Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at D. Forbes Will Field.
Game One: Bison 11, Colonels 3 (five innings)
Freshman
Hailey Bogusz drove in five runs to propel the Bison to victory in game one. She laced a two-run triple in the third that plated graduate student
Taylor Commesso and senior
Colleen Callahan, and later drove in Commesso and junior
Samantha Kostek with a double to center. Graduate student
Alexandria Rodi, meanwhile, also drove in three runs, highlighted by a two-run single in the fourth. Sophomore
Alyssa Ouellette improved to 7-2 on the season as she allowed five hits and three runs (two earned) with two walks and three strikeouts.
Game Two: Bison 8, Colonels 2
Commesso went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and four RBI while freshman
Lilly Fangel laced a two-run single for Nichols. Junior
Candice Nelson struck out six in seven innings of work to move to 6-4 on the season.
